After more than 4 years of research and development, Nam Kim Steel, in collaboration with MGK and Van Der Laan International Consultancy B.V, introduced the ZINMAG® steel product - High Corrosion Resistance Plated Steel with a special alloy composition.
This is a premium product with superior quality, providing breakthrough solutions in surface corrosion protection and metal edge protection, usable even in the most harsh environments such as coastal areas, farming, and chemicals, with a warranty period of over 50 years.
Moreover, ZINMAG® steel can be used to replace many other traditional metal materials in numerous applications in life, with competitive costs and high durability.

Nam Kim Steel engineers, experts, along with partners, have researched and developed to enhance the corrosion resistance capability of ZINMAG® steel far beyond current traditional plated steel types, with a special mechanism of action of magnesium and special rare earth components in the alloy.
Thus, magnesium and special rare earth components in ZINMAG® steel act as catalysts to promote the formation of an extremely stable crystalline film layer capable of corrosion resistance called Simonkolleite (SKT). The SKT coating has a tightly structured composition that prevents the impact of corrosion agents. After formation, SKT gradually moves outward to cover the entire base steel sheet to prevent corrosion agents in the environment, especially at unprotected cut edges. It can be said that the SKT coating layer is an extremely special factor that provides high corrosion resistance for ZINMAG® steel.
"Challenge" of harsh environments
Through test results on corrosion resistance, rust resistance at cutting surfaces, white mold resistance, scratch resistance on flat surfaces, and shaped bending surfaces in international standard laboratories, ZINMAG® steel has shown superior protection results compared to zinc plated and cold rolled steel products used in the tests.
Especially, environments like coastal areas, farming, and chemicals, where corrosion agents are extremely high, almost rapidly corrode and destroy metal-based plating layers. Through verified experiments, ZINMAG® steel can be completely used in these environments.
