Canada Launches Anti-Dumping Probe on Turkish CORE Steel

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has initiated an anti-dumping (AD) duty investigation into corrosion-resistant (CORE) steel sheet imported from Turkish steelmaker Borçelik Çelik Sanayi Ticaret A.Ş.

The CBSA will determine whether the imported CORE steel products are being sold at unfairly low prices, causing injury to the Canadian steel industry. A preliminary determination on the matter is expected within 90 days, and a statement of reasons will be issued within 15 days.

The products under investigation include a range of CORE steel products, classified under various Harmonized System (HS) tariff codes. The investigation will assess whether these products are being dumped and, if so, whether they are causing injury to Canadian producers.

The outcome of this investigation could potentially lead to the imposition of anti-dumping duties on Turkish CORE steel imports, which could impact the competitiveness of Turkish steel products in the Canadian market.
